Terms of Use

The Agreement

We open the door. You choose to walk through. That's the agreement.

What This Is

Observer OS is a free, open-source web application for personal consciousness practices.

It's not therapy. It's not medical treatment. It's not professional advice.

It's a tool. What you do with it is your responsibility.

Free Forever

  • No paywalls
  • No premium tiers
  • No trials that expire
  • No bait-and-switch

Donations are optional and appreciated. They keep the lights on. But you're never required to pay.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • How you use this tool
  • Your own mental and physical health
  • Seeking professional help if you need it
  • Your actions and their consequences

We provide:

  • Frameworks and practices
  • Tools for self-reflection
  • A supportive community
  • Honest guidance

We do NOT provide:

  • Medical or psychological treatment
  • Crisis intervention
  • Professional therapy
  • Guarantees or promises of specific outcomes

⚠️ Important Warnings

Some practices can be intense.

Memory work, psychological integration, and deep self-inquiry can trigger strong emotional responses.

That's why we have prerequisites. That's why we have warnings.

If you're in crisis:

  • Call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline - US)
  • Text "HELLO" to 741741 (Crisis Text Line - US)
  • Go to your nearest emergency room
  • Call your local emergency services

Observer OS is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

Community Guidelines

Be kind. Be honest. Don't be an asshole.

More specifically:

  • No harassment or abuse
  • No spam or self-promotion
  • No sharing others' private information
  • No medical or legal advice (we're not qualified)
  • Respect people's anonymity

We reserve the right to remove people who violate these guidelines.

Intellectual Property

All content is provided under MIT License (see repository).

You can:

  • Use it freely
  • Modify it
  • Share it
  • Fork the code
  • Build on it

Just keep the light on for someone else.

No Warranty

This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

We built this with care and intention. We use it ourselves.

But we can't guarantee it will work perfectly for everyone, all the time.

Bugs happen. Servers go down. Life is messy.

Changes to These Terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page.

The core principle won't change: Free forever. Open door. Your responsibility.

The Bottom Line

We're not here to make money off broken people.

We're here to help.

The door is open. The light is on. No fine print.

Use this tool with intention. Take care of yourself. Help someone else when you can.

That's the agreement.
